Karachi Traffic Police has launched a new e-monitoring system with fines soaring up to Rs. 100,000, and this time, every violation will be caught on camera.

The move aims to curb reckless driving and bring discipline to the city’s busy roads. With 1,000 cameras already live and plans to expand to 12,000, the crackdown marks a major shift in how traffic rules are enforced.

Officials say the system will improve road safety, but citizens call the new fines “a wallet shock.”
