LPG prices increased in Pakistan
Production price has been raised by PKR 112.16 per metric ton
Pakistan's Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased LPG prices for December 2024.
OGRA has increased the price of domestic LPG cylinders by PKR 1.32 and commercial cylinders by PKR 5.07.
The official production price has been raised by PKR 112.16 per metric ton.
Irfan Khokhar, Chairman of the LPG Industries Association of Pakistan, stated that LPG is not available at any LPG plant in the country at the official price.
"Heavy fines have become the fate of poor LPG vendors, while the mafia and their facilitators enjoy benefits. Instead of imposing heavy fines on poor LPG vendors, the government should ensure the supply of LPG from plants at the official price".
The country is facing a severe natural gas crisis, making it difficult for many areas to cook even two meals a day. LPG is the only affordable fuel capable of compensating for the shortage of natural gas.
About 60% of the LPG needed locally is imported.
