31,000 families were displaced for a Karachi expressway. Over 9,000 extra plots were allegedly created from land meant for roads and parks.

The Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project was supposed to rehabilitate those families. Instead, a report alleges that around 16,000 originally allotted plots were illegally transferred, with the extra plots carrying a market value of over Rs30 billion.

NAB is investigating. A Sindh government inquiry committee has also been formed. The officials allegedly responsible have not yet faced action.
