Ministry of Religious Affairs sets criteria for Hajj application collection by banks
Only Islamic banks allowed to collect Hajj applications
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced stringent conditions for scheduled banks to collect Hajj applications.
According to the recently issued Request for Proposal (RFP), only banks with an Islamic banking system and a nationwide network of at least 400 branches will be eligible to participate.
To qualify, banks must be officially certified by the State Bank and possess a minimum credit rating of AA (Double-A). Additionally, each branch must have trained staff available to handle Hajj applications.
Banks are required to submit their applications by October 25, with both technical and financial proposals to be enclosed in sealed envelopes. Detailed information regarding the scope of services, eligibility criteria, terms and conditions, and necessary forms can be found on the Ministry's website.
Last year, 15 banks were involved in the Hajj application process, including National Bank, Habib, United, Faisal, Bank Al-Habib, Askari, The Bank of Punjab, MCB, Allied, Meezan, Soneri, Bank Alfalah, Habib, Bank Islami, and Zarai Taraqiati Bank.
