Moin Khan calls for tough decisions to revamp Pakistan cricket
Former captain questions PCB leadership, calls for ex-cricketers in key roles
Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan has criticized the national team’s lack of hard work and dedication, urging the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to make bold decisions to restore the country’s cricketing stature.
Speaking at the Kashmir Supreme League ceremony, he emphasized that Pakistan, as the host nation, should have performed better in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Moin also voiced concerns over the PCB being run by non-cricketers, stating that selection issues persist due to a lack of merit-based decisions. He suggested that if Pakistan continues to struggle, a fresh squad should be formed.
He further stressed that for Pakistan cricket to progress, key players like Babar Azam must deliver performances akin to Virat Kohli’s and that former cricketers should be involved in administrative roles.

Highlighting Pakistan’s early exit from the Champions Trophy after defeats to New Zealand and India—along with a rain-abandoned match against Bangladesh - Moin lamented the country's decline in international cricket.
He urged the Prime Minister to consider appointing former players to the PCB and advocated for young talent to be given opportunities during the upcoming New Zealand series.
Criticizing the PCB’s management practices, he remarked that the board follows an unconventional system where officials are appointed first and then job advertisements are issued later, reflecting a lack of transparency.
