UAE launches online platform for Pledge and Commitment initiative

The UAE has expanded its Pledge and Commitment initiative, opening a digital platform for all citizens and residents to sign a national pledge expressing loyalty to the country's leadership.

The initiative was launched in May by Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, according to Gulf News.

What is the UAE Pledge and Commitment initiative?

The Pledge and Commitment initiative is a national campaign that invites UAE citizens and residents to digitally declare loyalty to the country's leadership and reaffirm their sense of national belonging.

It is built on four pillars: promoting coexistence and unity, drawing inspiration from the president's values, strengthening civic responsibility and expressing gratitude for the country's achievements.

How can residents participate in the Pledge and Commitment initiative?

Citizens and residents can take part by visiting the dedicated online platform, reading the pledge and signing it digitally. Organizers say the process takes only a few minutes to complete.

After signing, participants receive a personalized Certificate of Appreciation that can be downloaded and shared on social media.

How did the initiative begin?

The launch ceremony drew more than 4,800 participants from across the UAE, including citizens, residents, students, academics, investors, business leaders and community representatives.

Sheikh Nahyan was the first to sign the initiative document, followed by 30 prominent figures, before participation was opened to attendees. The platform has since been extended nationwide to allow broader public engagement.

The pledge itself includes a declaration of loyalty to the UAE and its leadership, a commitment to peaceful coexistence, and a promise to preserve national values for future generations.

Organizers say the initiative is designed to grow into a nationwide movement combining digital participation, community engagement and public activities. The goal is to strengthen national belonging across the country's diverse population.
