UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed regional developments, including recent security incidents, the Iran ceasefire announcement, and bilateral cooperation, during a phone call on Sunday, WAM reported,
The two officials reviewed the impact of what the UAE described as unprovoked Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, and their wider implications for international peace and security, energy flows, maritime safety, and global economic stability.
Abdullah bin Zayed expressed appreciation for US solidarity with the UAE following the incidents, according to the statement.
The call also touched on US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, with both sides discussing avenues to strengthen coordinated efforts aimed at achieving long-term regional stability and peace.
Abdullah bin Zayed praised Trump’s efforts to advance peace initiatives and noted parallel US diplomatic engagement on easing tensions between Lebanon and Israel, stressing that sustainable political solutions remain key to resolving regional crises and enhancing long-term stability.
The two sides also reviewed UAE-US strategic relations, reaffirming what the statement described as a longstanding partnership and commitment to expanding cooperation across political, economic, and security sectors.
