Newborn abandoned in Islamabad rescued, adopted by police officer
Baby found alive in plastic bag, near jurisdiction of Shehzad Town police station
A newborn girl, abandoned in a plastic bag near the Chatta Bakhtawar area of Islamabad, was rescued by a police officer early Thursday morning.
At around 6:15 AM, an unidentified person left the infant, estimated to be just three to four hours old. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Shehzad Town police station.
A distress call was made to the 15 emergency helpline, and officers were dispatched to the scene.
Responding to the call, duty officer ASI Imam Ali arrived at the scene, where Constable Asif Khan, deployed with the Dolphin Squad, expressed his desire to adopt the child.

Constable Khan’s act of kindness has been widely praised, with many lauding his efforts to give the child a chance at a better life.
However, the police have launched an investigation to locate the baby’s parents and uncover the circumstances surrounding her abandonment.
