A Pakistan Army officer embraced martyrdom and five terrorists were killed on Saturday during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Razmak area of North Waziristan district.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that security forces neutralized the militants belonging to the banned outfit Fitna al Khawarij during heavy close-quarters combat.

The military's media wing identified the fallen officer as 34-year-old Major Hafiz Ihsan Elahi, a resident of Mianwali district. Major Elahi led his troops from the front during the raid, fought gallantly, and made the ultimate sacrifice.

The midnight operation successfully targeted and destroyed an active insurgent hideout, neutralizing a prospective suicide bomber alongside six other militants while destroying explosive stockpiles on-site.
The continuous military actions align with the nation's refreshed counter-terrorism campaign under the vision Azm-i-Istehkam, which was authorized by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan.
