Pakistan's cement dispatches rose 11.14% year-on-year in April 2026, reaching 3.89 million tons against 3.5 million tons in the same month last year, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association.

The increase was driven by a sharp jump in domestic demand, while exports declined significantly.

How much did cement dispatches increase in April 2026?

Local dispatches surged 20.17% to 3.217 million tons from 2.677 million tons in April 2025. Exports fell 18.22% to 673,058 tons from 823,032 tons in the same month last year.

North-based mills dispatched 2.66 million tons in domestic markets, up 18.25% from 2.25 million tons in April 2025. There were no exports from the north during the last month.

South-based mills dispatched 555,104 tons locally, up 30.35% from 425,869 tons in April 2025. Exports from the south fell 5.01% to 673,058 tons from 708,565 tons a year earlier.

The total dispatches rose 8.26% to 1.23 million tons from 1.13 million tons in April 2025.

Total cement sales for the first ten months of FY2026 reached 42.4 million tons, up 9.83% from 38.6 million tons in the same period last year.

Domestic dispatches grew 11.33% to 34.79 million tons from 31.24 million tons. Export dispatches rose 3.47% to 7.61 million tons from 7.35 million tons.

North-based mills dispatched 29.01 million tons domestically during July 2025 to April 2026, up 12.56% year-on-year. However, exports from the north fell sharply by 35.39% to 797,679 tons from 1.234 million tons in the same period last year. Total north dispatches grew 10.36% to 29.812 million tons.

South-based mills dispatched 5.77 million tons domestically, up 5.56% year-on-year.

Exports from the south rose 11.31% to 6.81 million tons from 6.12 million tons in the prior-year period. Total south dispatches increased 8.60% to 12.584 million tons.

What is the cement industry's outlook for the coming months?

An APCMA spokesperson said the industry expects an improved geopolitical environment in the coming weeks to strengthen the global economy and reduce energy uncertainty. The association also anticipates industry-friendly policies in the upcoming federal budget to improve operational competitiveness.
