Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a series of high-level telephone conversations with key Gulf leaders on Saturday following the dangerous escalation in the Middle East triggered by the Israeli attacks on Iran.

In a telephone call with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the Israeli strike on Iran and the subsequent regrettable attacks that affected Qatar and other Gulf countries. He described the situation as deeply alarming and a serious threat to regional peace and stability.


Referring to his recent meeting in Doha, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s complete solidarity and unwavering support for the brotherly State of Qatar during the current crisis. He assured the Qatari leadership that Pakistan will always stand shoulder to shoulder with Qatar and its people.

The Prime Minister also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to playing a positive and constructive role in promoting peace, stability and de-escalation in the region. He emphasized that dialogue, diplomacy and mutual respect remain the only viable path toward ensuring lasting peace in the Middle East.

Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to convey Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the dangerous regional escalation following the Israeli attack on Iran and the regrettable strikes against the UAE and other Gulf nations.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of a Pakistani national in Abu Dhabi. He reaffirmed that Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the UAE and assured that the people of Pakistan will always stand by their Emirati brothers and sisters during difficult times.

In another important call, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to express Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the escalating tensions in the region and subsequent developments across the Gulf.

The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia and all brotherly Gulf countries during this perilous period. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to play a constructive role in efforts aimed at restoring calm and stability.

PM Shehbaz expressed hope that the blessings of Ramadan would bring peace, restraint and stability to the region during these challenging times.
