Gold prices in Pakistan soared to an all-time high, reaching PKR 314,000 ($1,113) per tola for 24-karat gold, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. This increase of PKR 4,700 from the previous day's closing has set a new record.

The current price of PKR 314,000 per tola marks a significant rise from the PKR 272,600 per tola recorded on December 31, 2024. International price of gold on December end was $2,614 per ounce.

Over the span of just over two months, gold prices have surged by PKR 41,400 per tola, translating to an approximate increase of 15.18%.

The sharp rise in gold prices is attributed to global economic uncertainties, geopolitical tensions, and fluctuations in international gold markets.

On Thursday, gold futures prices surpassed the historic milestone of $3,000 per ounce for the first time. Analysts predict that the gold bull market is not over, and prices are expected to continue climbing.

This rapid escalation in gold prices, unprecedented in recent history, has raised concerns for consumers while benefiting investors.

In addition to gold, silver prices have also seen a notable increase. The price of silver 24KT tola reached PKR 3,530, marking a rise of PKR 90.
