Pakistan inflation eases to 33-month-low of 11.1% in July
Inflation figures are in line with analyst expectations.
Pakistan’s inflation as measured through the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was recorded at 11.1% in July, compared to 28.3% a year ago.
This is the lowest monthly inflation since October 2021 when it was recorded at 9.2%.
On a month-on-month basis, inflation rose 2.5%, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The figures are in line with analyst expectations of 10.5-11%.
Meanwhile, core inflation clocked in at 11.7% for urban areas and 16.9% for rural areas.
Brokerage house Arif Habib Limited said the latest data “reflects the continuation of the disinflation trend that has been evident over the past few months”.
PBS data showed food inflation in July surged 1.56% on yearly basis and 4.67% on monthly basis.
