Pakistan and Iran have agreed to boost bilateral cooperation across security, trade, and regional connectivity, following high-level talks during a two-day visit by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Dr. Ali Ardeshir Larijani, to Islamabad.
Dr. Larijani, who was in Pakistan from November 25-26, held delegation-level meetings with Pakistan’s National Security Advisor, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Asim Malik, and called on senior officials including the president, prime minister, speaker of the National Assembly, foreign minister and chief of army staff.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides reaffirmed the countries’ long-standing ties rooted in shared history, culture, and faith. Discussions spanned a wide range of areas, including political engagement, economic and trade cooperation, counter-terrorism, border security, regional connectivity, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

The two governments agreed to enhance collaboration in ways that promote mutual prosperity and contribute to regional peace and stability.
Officials also reviewed major regional and international developments, emphasizing the need for constructive dialogue, coordinated policies, and peaceful dispute resolution to advance shared goals of security and development.
Both countries committed to maintaining close cooperation in regional and multilateral forums.
The visit was described as a significant step in sustaining positive momentum in Pakistan-Iran relations and laying the groundwork for expanded future collaboration.
