My journey from reporting to news anchor in these organisations was excellent. Now, I am working as a correspondent with Nukta in Islamabad, where I get the opportunity of in-depth journalism and storytelling while I am now covering parliamentary affairs, politics, and technology.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Saturday called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene an emergency session to craft a unified response to Israel’s escalating military campaign, particularly its recent strikes on Iran.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Asif condemned Israel’s aggression, labeling it a grave threat to both regional and global peace.

“Palestinian children are being killed, yet protests are louder in non-Muslim countries than in the Muslim world,” he remarked, expressing regret over the muted response across Islamic countries.

Asif described Iran as more than just a neighboring country, calling it a “brotherly state” with historic ties to Pakistan. He warned that unless Muslim countries unite in action, they could all become targets. “Israel’s targeted actions in Yemen, Iran, and Palestine reflect a broader plan. Many Muslim states are already confronting serious security threats. Strong leadership is the need of the hour,” he emphasized.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Iran, Asif said: “Israel has innocent blood on its hands. Pakistan stands firmly with Iran and will continue to support it at international forums.”

He also referenced India’s recent hostilities, asserting that they backfired. “India’s arrogance was shattered, and its leadership is now facing embarrassment at home. This was possible due to our military’s strength and the unity of the Pakistani people,” he added, praising the armed forces and citizens for demonstrating national resolve.

“We showed the world that Pakistan is not weak -- neither yesterday nor today.”

Asif highlighted the heightened security posture along Pakistan’s coastal borders during recent regional tensions, noting that the navy’s preparedness compelled adversaries to retreat. “Our forces responded with precision and determination,” he said.

He described the military’s successful execution of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos as a strategic milestone and morale booster. “Our response to Indian aggression was firm and timely. We struck back with full force,” he noted.

Asif also emphasized the importance of ideological politics over personality cults. “No individual is above the country. Leaders come and go, but the nation and its values must endure,” he said. He lauded political martyrs whose legacies live on through their ideas, not just their names.

He reiterated that national strength is derived from unity, not division. “Nations are built through the sacrifices of martyrs, not by idolizing personalities,” he said.
