Pakistan on Friday expressed support for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates' efforts to resolve the Yemen crisis, signaling alignment with two of its closest Gulf allies on a conflict that has destabilized the region for over a decade.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Islamabad remains committed to Yemen's unity and territorial integrity, and expressed hope that positive steps undertaken by Riyadh and Abu Dhabi would contribute toward a peaceful settlement.

Pakistan "highly appreciated the wisdom and foresight demonstrated by the leadership of Saudi Arabia and the UAE in addressing the situation in Yemen," Andrabi said, noting that such initiatives reflect a shared desire for regional peace and stability by the two countries.

The spokesperson said Pakistan remains ready to play a constructive role in promoting the values of partnership, brotherhood, and unity, with the aim of achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.

The statement was issued in response to a media query regarding developments in Yemen.

Yemen has been engulfed in civil war since 2014, when Houthi forces seized the capital Sanaa. Saudi Arabia leads a coalition that intervened the following year to restore the internationally recognized government.
