Pakistan registers record 5,438 new companies in July
IT sector leads registrations with 1,008 new firms as Punjab accounts for 51% of total incorporations

Pakistan registered a record 5,438 new companies with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in July, reflecting continued momentum in formal business activity, with the information technology sector leading new incorporations.
According to the SECP, the registrations included 3,148 private limited companies, 2,117 single-member companies, 127 limited liability partnerships, 28 nonprofit organizations and 18 public companies.
The regulator said five foreign companies established offices in Pakistan during the month, while 112 newly registered companies had foreign directors. The foreign companies were from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and China, indicating continued international business interest in Pakistan.
Punjab accounted for the largest share of new registrations, with 2,756 companies, or 51% of the total. Islamabad followed with 1,053 new companies, followed by Sindh with 864, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 450, Gilgit-Baltistan with 180 and Balochistan with 135.
The information technology sector led all industries with 1,008 new company registrations, highlighting its continued role in driving new business formation.
Trading accounted for 845 new companies, followed by services with 638, construction with 348, food and beverages with 256, tourism with 207, e-commerce with 181, education with 165, real estate development with 162 and corporate agriculture with 145.
The latest figures point to sustained momentum in company incorporations, led by the technology sector, while the presence of foreign companies and directors suggests continued international interest in Pakistan's business market.
