This week, the Pakistan Stock Exchange shattered a major psychological barrier, with the benchmark KSE-100 index surging past the 150,000 mark for the first time ever.

Fueled by strong buying in heavyweight banking stocks, the index climbed to an intra-day peak of 151,250 points, a new all-time high. However, the euphoria was short-lived. Profit-taking towards the end of the week trimmed gains, and the index settled at 149,493 points, still up by 3,001 points or 2% week-on-week. I
