Pakistan to host Blind T20 World Cup later this year
Pakistan will become the first country after India to host the event which will take place in Lahore and Multan from Nov 22 to Dec 3.
The preparations for the Blind T20 World Cup, which will be played in Pakistan from November 22 to December 3, have reached the final stages.
The Chairman of Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), Sultan Shah, while talking to Nukta said that the preparation for the event is going in the right direction with Multan and Lahore set to host the matches.
“Everything is on track and we are confident about hosting the tournament in a successful manner,” Shah said.
Hosts Pakistan, defending champions India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Africa, New Zealand and Nepal will take part in the mega event.
The opening ceremony will be held on November 22, while the matches will start from November 23.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony to be held at the Al Hamra Cultural Center in Lahore. Either President Asif Ali Zardari or Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be the chief guest at the final in Multan.
In the first round, the competition will be held on a single-league basis after which the four best teams will qualify for the semi-finals. The semi-final and final will be played in Multan.
Meanwhile, India has also shared a 26-member squad for the event. Their training camp will start in Delhi from October 22.

The Indian team has also submitted an application for No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Sports Ministry.
This will be the first time that a country other than India will host the Blind World Cup. India have also won all of the previous editions of the T20 World Cups which took place in 2012, 2017 and 2022.
