A Pakistani expatriate in Dubai has struck gold after winning a 250-gram 24-karat gold bar in Big Ticket Abu Dhabi’s weekly e-draw.

The win was especially rewarding because it came from a solo ticket purchase, meaning he keeps the entire prize for himself, Gulf News reported Wednesday.

Going solo pays off

Amir Ali, 41, a grocery shop owner from Karachi, was the winner.

Living in Dubai with his family for the past decade, Ali has been entering Big Ticket draws for years, mostly with groups of friends. This time, he decided to take a chance on his own—and it paid off, reported Khaleej Times.

“I’ve been buying tickets for years as part of a group, and since 2016, I’ve been purchasing with just one friend. This time, I went solo. When I got the winning call, I thought it was about a new promotion. I never imagined it would be about winning! At first, I was in shock, then overjoyed,” Ali said.

‘It’s unbelievable’

Ali said he bought his ticket early this month to increase his chances in the weekly draws. “Really! I am so happy. I am speechless. It’s unbelievable,” he told show host Richard during the live draw.

He plans to use the gold bar for future investments, possibly in his business. “I’ll keep buying from Big Ticket and encourage others to do the same. Big Ticket offers amazing opportunities you shouldn’t miss,” he added.

Big Ticket’s October promotion continues

Big Ticket’s October promotion is now in its second week, with the first draw already awarding five winners with 250-gram 24-karat gold bars. Three more weekly draws are scheduled this month, giving participants more chances to win.

The highlight of the campaign is the Dh25 million ($6.8 million) grand prize, which will be announced during the live draw on Nov. 3.
