Investigation underway following Sharjah school roof collapse
Investigation aims to determine the cause and prevent future incidents after the killing of 2 workers and injuries to 3 others.
Sharjah Police are investigating the collapse of a roof at a school under construction in Kalba City, which resulted in the deaths of two workers and injuries to three others on Sunday, September 8. The incident, which occurred in the afternoon, triggered a swift and coordinated emergency response.
Emergency teams, including the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, Kalba Comprehensive Police Station, Crime Scene Team, National Ambulance, and Kalba City Municipality, rushed to the scene. Colonel Dr. Ali Al-Khamoudi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department, noted that the injured workers, of Arab and Asian nationalities, had sustained injuries ranging from mild to moderate. They received first aid on-site before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The bodies of the two deceased workers have been recovered from the site, and specialized teams are working to stabilize the area and prevent additional damage.
The probe aims to determine the circumstances of the accident and implement measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
