Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the formation of a new Board of Directors for the Young Arab Leaders initiative. This significant step underscores Dubai’s commitment to empowering Arab youth and fostering a culture of innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship in the region.

In a tweet announcing the development, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the initiative's mission to create a vast network of 50,000 members while launching transformative projects aimed at fostering positive change. He reiterated the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who regards the region’s youth as its greatest resource.

The initiative seeks to harness the region’s potential by empowering its youth, who make up a substantial portion of the Arab world’s 200 million strong population.

According to Sheikh Hamdan, these young people represent “200 million opportunities to design and shape a prosperous future”, underscoring the importance of nurturing their skills and providing opportunities for growth.

This diverse group of influential figures will guide the initiative toward achieving its ambitious goals. Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, has been appointed as chairman of the board, while Fatma Rashid Bujsaim will serve as secretary-general, driving the initiative’s daily operations.
