The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has been recognized globally in TripAdvisor's 2024 report, securing top positions among cultural and historical landmarks worldwide. The announcement of the top 10 landmarks was made during TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice Awards.
This year's awards celebrated 759 landmarks spanning 68 countries and eight regions worldwide. Cambodia's Angkor Wat and Spain's Plaza de Espana claimed the first and second spots, respectively.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is "by far the youngest world landmark" on the top 10 list, and the mosque "stands strong among more established icons," noted TripAdvisor, a renowned global travel and booking platform.

Iconic landmark and expanded visitor services
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a work of art that established itself as an iconic landmark and has had over 67 million visitors within the past 16 years. Every year, over 5,000 cultural tours are being given to more than seven million visitors from diverse cultures.
Dr. Yousif Alobaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, gives credits to the leadership's vision and the mosque's Centre's strategic plan. The plan focuses on enhancing services and offering new visitor experiences. The mosque keeps expanding, as the facilities include a Visitor Centre with exhibition halls, auditorium and library. Soup Al Jami offers shops, entertainment areas and restaurants. In addition, a jogging track is available for sports activities next to the mosque.

Unique tours offer a memorable cultural and religious experience at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. For instance, the ''Hidden Glimpses'' tours in electric vehicles showcase the mesmerizing details of the mosque.
