Three suspects arrested over the murder of a doctor in Karachi were killed during a police raid on Thursday.
Authorities said the men were allegedly hit by gunfire from their own accomplices, while a police officer was wounded in the exchange.

Police, through the Special Investigation Unit, carried out the operation near the Northern Bypass in the Umar Brohi Goth area of Gulshan-e-Maymar.
Officers aimed to arrest additional suspects linked to the killing of Dr. Akash Kumar, acting on information provided by the men already in custody.
According to the SIU, the suspects' accomplices opened heavy fire after spotting the police team, triggering a gun battle.
The three detained suspects, identified as Suresh, Ram Chand and Anil, were critically wounded by bullets allegedly fired by their own associates and died while being transported to Jinnah Hospital.
One police officer was also injured in the exchange of fire, the SIU said. A search operation was continuing to apprehend the remaining suspects, and further legal proceedings were underway.
Who was Dr. Akash Kumar and how was he killed?
The three men had been arrested in connection with the killing of Dr. Akash Kumar, a young doctor shot dead during an armed robbery in Karachi's Clifton area last week. Kumar was travelling with his father and cousin after withdrawing cash from a bank when four armed men on two motorcycles intercepted their vehicle near Teen Talwar.
One of the assailants opened the car door and shot Kumar before fleeing with the cash. Kumar was serving as a house officer at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. His killing triggered protests by doctors at the hospital, while the Pakistan Medical Association condemned the attack, saying it reflected deteriorating law and order in Karachi.
What legal action has been taken in the case?
Police registered a murder and robbery case at Frere Police Station under Pakistan's penal code following a complaint by Kumar's cousin. The cousin told investigators he would be able to identify the attackers.
