International Packaging Films Limited (IPAK), one of Pakistan’s leading manufacturers of flexible packaging films, plans to expand into Europe by establishing a wholly owned subsidiary in Portugal, the company said on Friday.

The proposed subsidiary will be incorporated by IPAK Connect Packaging Materials Trading FZCO, the group’s wholly owned subsidiary based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Once incorporated, the Portuguese entity will become part of the IPAK Group and serve as its commercial platform within the European Union.

The expansion is part of IPAK Group’s broader international growth strategy and is aimed at strengthening its presence in the European market by establishing operations closer to existing and prospective customers.

The Portugal-based entity will serve as a dedicated hub for the group’s European activities, supporting closer engagement with customers, converters, distributors and other industry partners.

The local presence is expected to facilitate faster coordination on product development, order planning and after-sales support, while giving the group greater insight into European packaging technologies, sustainability requirements, regulatory developments and customer preferences.

The move will also support IPAK Group’s strategy of building an internationally connected packaging films business, combining its manufacturing capabilities in Pakistan with an expanding commercial presence in overseas markets.

The establishment of the Portuguese subsidiary remains subject to all applicable legal, regulatory and corporate approvals.
