Tesla has opened UAE reservations for its next-generation Roadster, with deposits from Dh210,000 to Dh1.02 million, Khaleej Times reported. Elon Musk unveiled the electric supercar last week at a demonstration in Texas. Tesla has not given a delivery date.

How much does it cost to reserve Tesla Roadster in UAE?

Reserving the Tesla Roadster in the UAE costs between Dh210,000 and Dh1.02 million, depending on the version. These are deposits, not final prices. Tesla says it cannot confirm the purchase price yet because options, features and hardware are still being worked on.

The car is listed under the “Vehicles” section of Tesla’s UAE website, with a “Reserve Now” option. The final amount will be set once customers configure their vehicles.

What is the difference between the Performance and Thrust versions?

The Performance version is described as “road ready.” It is a two-seater with active aerodynamics and a multi-mode suction system designed to improve grip and handling. Buyers must pay Dh20,000 upfront, which Tesla says is fully refundable. Another Dh190,000 is due within 10 days, bringing the total to Dh210,000.

The Thrust version is described as “race ready.” It is a limited-release two-seater with all the Performance features. It also has acceleration thrusters that Tesla says can take the car from 0 to 100 km/h in under one second.

Buyers must pay Dh20,000 upfront, which Tesla says is fully refundable. Another Dh1 million is due within 10 days, bringing the total to Dh1.02 million. Tesla has limited reservations to one per customer because of limited availability.

Does a Tesla Roadster reservation mean you have bought the car?

No. Under the Roadster Reservation Agreement, a reservation becomes effective only after Tesla receives the full payment, including the amount due within 10 days. Tesla must also confirm the booking by email.

Reserving a Roadster does not mean the customer has ordered or bought the car. It only secures an approximate priority position. Buyers will be invited to configure their vehicles and complete the purchase closer to production.

If the purchase goes ahead, the full reservation payment will be deducted from the final price.

What is the Tesla Roadster Rocket and can you reserve it?

Tesla also has a third version that it says can fly. Called the Rocket, it is described as “air ready.” It is a single-seater that combines the features of the other two versions with a full flight system.

Unlike the Thrust version, which has thrusters at the rear, the Rocket has cold-gas thrusters placed around the vehicle. Tesla says these let it accelerate upward and forward, and rotate sideways while airborne. The thrusters make tiny adjustments in fractions of a second to help stabilize it in flight.

The Rocket is marked “Invite Only.” Buyers need an invitation to reserve it, and no reservation amount has been listed.

Tesla says the Rocket is not approved for public-road use. It also says the configuration is not available in all regions and that availability depends on local laws and regulations.

When will the Tesla Roadster be delivered?

Tesla has not said. The company says the Roadster is still under development and it cannot guarantee when a vehicle will be delivered. The agreement states that no delivery date is offered, implied or guaranteed. Tesla accepts no liability for delays.

Musk has said production of the redesigned Roadster will begin in 2028. Tesla has not said when deliveries will start.

The Roadster has been among Tesla’s most awaited vehicles since the second-generation model was first revealed in 2017.
