Dense fog blanketed parts of the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday morning, disrupting both air and road traffic and causing delays at Dubai and Sharjah airports, Khaleej Times reported.
At Dubai International Airport (DXB), several Emirates flights were delayed as visibility dropped to a few hundred meters in some areas.
“Heavy fog in Dubai on the morning of February 24 has caused the delay of some Emirates flights arriving and departing at Dubai International Airport,” an Emirates spokesperson told Khaleej Times.
Passengers were advised to check flight status online, with the airline emphasizing that “the safety of our passengers and crew is of utmost importance and will not be compromised.”
Sharjah Airport also experienced significant disruptions, with at least 28 flights delayed, mostly operated by Air Arabia. Some international routes, including flights by Indigo and Air India Express, were rescheduled due to the poor visibility.
Authorities warned drivers to exercise caution on fog-affected roads as visibility remained limited across the morning.
