UAE Doctors have introduced a new mobile healthcare initiative designed to bring specialized voluntary medical services directly into residential neighborhoods, marking a first-of-its-kind effort to strengthen community wellbeing across the country.
According to WAM, the Mobile Voluntary Al-Fareej Health Festival has been launched under the theme “For our Nation – Following the Path and Legacy of Zayed the Giver”, with the aim of expanding access to preventive healthcare while embedding a culture of health awareness at the community level.
The program is structured to recruit, train and professionally prepare medical volunteers, enhancing their capacity to deliver preventive and educational health services. Its focus includes promoting healthy lifestyles, increasing awareness of common and chronic diseases, and encouraging early screening and prevention through a sustainable, year-round outreach model.
The festival will travel across multiple emirates, beginning in Abu Dhabi, using specially equipped mobile buses that function as integrated health hubs. These platforms offer services covering physical, mental and sports health, alongside educational, cultural and environmental wellbeing components.
Launched by Zayed Giving in partnership with the UAE National Readiness and Response Program (Jaheziya), the initiative operates under the supervision of UAE Volunteer Ambassadors, with support from volunteer teams and collaboration with government bodies, private-sector organizations and non-profits.
Onboard services include early diagnostic screenings, nutritional counselling, fitness and physical activity sessions, and behavioral change program addressing issues such as inactivity, poor sleep and anxiety, enabling the initiative to reach diverse segments of society within their own communities.
The program reflects a preventive healthcare approach that prioritizes specialized medical volunteering and cross-sector partnerships to deliver innovative, community-based health solutions. It builds on more than 25 years of Zayed Giving initiatives inspired by the humanitarian legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Adel Al Shamry Al Ajmi, Chief Executive of the Zayed Giving Initiative and President of UAE Doctors, said the festival offers a new model that converts voluntary health efforts into practical services with a direct impact on daily life, helping build a healthier and more resilient society.
Latifa Al Khouri, a cardiology consultant, said the initiative rests on four core pillars: volunteering, early detection to support community health, public health awareness, and interactive health accelerators aimed at correcting unhealthy behaviors and promoting physical activity, balanced nutrition and mental wellbeing.
Al Anoud Al Shamry, Chief Executive of the UAE Community and Specialized Volunteering Program Tatawoa, urged community members to participate, highlighting the initiative’s role in enhancing quality of life and encouraging long-term, sustainable health practices across society.
