The deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Pakistan, Senator Ishaq Dar, welcomed UAE’s foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Islamabad on Sunday, marking the start of a two-day official visit.
The UAE dignitary, who is also the country’s deputy prime minister, is in Pakistan from April 20 to 21, the Foreign Office said in a statement.
According to the Foreign Office, the high-level visit reflects the “deep-rooted, fraternal relations” between the two countries and highlights their shared commitment to expanding cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
Sheikh Abdullah will hold formal talks with Dar. The two sides are expected to review the full range of bilateral relations, with a particular focus on trade, investment, energy, regional security, and people-to-people ties.
Both ministers last met in Abu Dhabi on February 21.
The UAE foreign minister is also scheduled to meet Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the visit. The meeting is expected to reaffirm the shared vision of both nations for peace and prosperity in the region.
The Foreign Office said the visit would help further strengthen Pakistan-UAE ties and deepen cooperation across multiple sectors, benefiting the people of both countries.
