The UAE has announced the formation of a National Identity Committee aimed at reinforcing Emirati identity and aligning efforts across federal and local institutions under a unified national framework, WAM reported.
The committee will oversee the implementation of the National Identity Strategy, ensuring coordinated policies, avoiding duplication of initiatives, and enhancing integration across sectors.
It will define the core pillars and values of national identity, develop a reference framework to guide institutions, and launch initiatives designed to strengthen social cohesion and national belonging.
Among its key responsibilities, the body will introduce a national index to measure public engagement with and pride in the country’s identity, while also assessing the impact of related programs. It will further lead the development of a unified national narrative through integrated communication plans across traditional and digital media platforms.
The committee operates under the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council as part of broader efforts to advance the National Identity Strategy endorsed during the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025.
