UAE sends new relief shipment to earthquake-hit Afghanistan

The United Arab Emirates has dispatched another shipment of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, extending its ongoing support to communities devastated by recent earthquakes.

The latest delivery marks the sixth batch of Emirati relief supplies under the country’s humanitarian air bridge, bringing the total assistance to 250 tons transported via seven aircraft and 21 trucks, according to WAM.

The aid package includes more than 6,600 food baskets, 1,030 tents, 850 blankets, and 28 tons of dates, which have been distributed across several affected regions, including Samangan province. There, over a thousand food baskets and hundreds of tents and blankets were handed out to displaced families.

The UAE’s relief campaign, carried out under the directives of its leadership, continues to uphold the nation’s long-standing tradition of generosity and solidarity inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Local residents have expressed deep appreciation for the UAE’s swift response and sustained assistance, acknowledging its vital role in helping quake-hit families recover.

Through these efforts, the UAE reaffirms its commitment to aiding disaster-stricken communities and addressing humanitarian challenges around the world.
