The UAE national modern sailing team celebrated a remarkable achievement at the 20th International Maritime Week of the Strait of Gibraltar. The team clinched a total of five medals, comprising three gold, one silver, and one bronze, marking a stellar conclusion to the prestigious event.

Participating with a squad of six athletes, including three men and three women, the team competed fiercely in both the fourth and sixth sailing boat categories. The competition drew 100 participants from six European and African nations, alongside numerous Moroccan clubs, showcasing a diverse and competitive field.

Adel Khalid, a standout member of the UAE national team, emerged as a dual medalist, securing gold in the K4 6 'Masters' category and silver in the overall K6 competition. His achievements underscored the team's prowess and determination on the international stage.

The UAE contingent also witnessed outstanding performances from its women athletes. Doha Al-Bushar bagged two medals: gold in the K6 'girls' category and bronze in the general K6 competition. Meanwhile, newcomer Marwa Al-Hammadi made an impressive debut, claiming gold in the K4 'girls' competition, further solidifying the team's dominance in various disciplines.
