What to expect from Trump’s second presidential term?

After Donald Trump’s recent election as president of the United States, questions are arising globally about his administration’s potential foreign policy stance.
Throughout his campaign and during his first term, Trump championed an “America First” philosophy, focusing on strengthening the U.S. economy and defense. A significant part of his agenda is to solidify the economy by expanding oil exploration, and he aims to steer America away from foreign conflicts whenever possible.
Trump has long aspired to make the United States a more powerful economic force. Unlike his predecessors, he resists involving the U.S. in global issues unnecessarily. Notably, Trump believes he could end the Russia-Ukraine war “within hours” through negotiations.
Like many American presidents, Trump has a strong pro-Israel stance. Known for his role in the Abraham Accords, which improved relations in the Middle East, Trump is likely to play a prominent role in seeking ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon. His reputation for diplomacy in the Middle East suggests he could mediate effectively in regional conflicts.
Trump’s approach to NATO has been notably ceremonial, favoring minimal U.S. involvement. He previously called the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan a mistake and was instrumental in the U.S. withdrawal from Kabul, recognizing Pakistan's assistance in the Doha Agreement.
Trump’s exit from the nuclear treaty with Iran and the imposition of sanctions has already heightened tension in the Persian Gulf. If re-elected, he may further increase sanctions on Iran, adding to regional stress.
On domestic policy, Trump remains committed to enforcing immigration laws and completing the Mexican border wall, an unfinished goal from his first term. With a Republican majority in Congress, he faces fewer legislative challenges, positioning him as an even more powerful president in his second term.
