Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters has reminded residents that prior approval from the relevant authorities is mandatory before organizing any celebratory parades or public assemblies, according to state news agency WAM.
The police statement stressed that compliance with established regulatory procedures is essential to safeguard public safety, protect lives and property, and ensure orderly conduct of public events.
It added that official coordination and permitting of gatherings is a key requirement for maintaining public security and preventing disruption to traffic flow. Authorities also called on members of the public to act responsibly and report any unlicensed or unauthorized activities to law enforcement.
The General Directorate of Traffic and Patrols warned in particular against impromptu road convoys, noting that reckless behavior such as passengers leaning out of windows or sunroofs poses serious safety risks and is subject to strict penalties.
Under Article 1 of the UAE Federal Traffic Law, driving in a manner that endangers lives carries a fine of 2,000 dirhams, 23 black points, and vehicle impoundment for 60 days. In addition, Article 94 provides that participation in an unauthorized convoy or parade is punishable by a 500 dirham fine, four black points, and a 15-day vehicle impoundment for light vehicles.
