Abu Dhabi to host 4th edition of Spartan Beast World Championship

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Spartan have officially announced that the fourth edition of the Spartan Beast World Championship will take place in the stunning Al Wathba Desert from November 28 to December 1, 2024. The previous edition, also held in Al Wathba desert, attracted over 5,000 male and female competitors from 75 countries.

A new challenge: Ladies-only night sprint

This year’s championship introduces an exciting new feature: the ladies-only night sprint. Designed exclusively for female athletes, this event offers a unique opportunity to compete in a private setting. The course includes 20 obstacles over a 5 km distance, set against the dramatic backdrop of Al Wathba Desert. In addition to the exclusive ladies-only sprint, women will have the opportunity to compete alongside men in various other races throughout the championship. These include the challenging 5 km night sprint, the 21 km Beast Race, and the 3 km Team Relay Race.

Men’s events and challenges

The Elite Men’s races are crafted for top athletes seeking to push their limits. These competitors will tackle the most demanding obstacles and rigorous course layouts, including the 21 km Beast Race featuring 30 obstacles. These events highlight the pinnacle of Spartan racing, where elite male athletes vie for top honors and set new records.

The Open Men’s races offer a more inclusive challenge for all skill levels. Participants can join events such as the 5 km Sprint and 10 km Super Race, which feature a variety of obstacles.

The beast race and family fun

The highlight of the championship, the 21 km Beast Race, will take place on November 30. Athletes will face 30 formidable obstacles as they compete in the Elite and Age Group World Championships. For the younger participants, there will be a 1-3 km Obstacle Race, designed to introduce kids to the thrill of Spartan racing.
