British entrepreneur and content creator Simon Squibb was crowned the winner of the inaugural $1 million One Billion Award for content creators at the 1 Billion Followers Summit held in Dubai.
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairperson of the Dubai Culture Authority, presented the award to Squibb during the event’s closing ceremony.

Squibb's win comes after competing against 16,000 other applicants, with the top five finalists determined through a public voting process that collected 3.3 million votes worldwide.
The One Billion Award celebrates content creators whose work inspires positive change, strengthens communities, and promotes values of empathy and compassion.

Following his win, an emotional Squibb took to the stage, thanking Sheikha Latifa and expressing his gratitude for the recognition.
The three-day summit also announced the “Investing with Content Creators” program, a collaboration between Shorooq Partners and the One Billion Followers Summit, offering AED 50 million to support startups and innovators in the content creation industry.
