Dubai launches ‘One Million Prompters’ initiative to empower future AI innovators

The Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) has officially opened registrations for its ambitious "One Million Prompters" initiative, a pioneering project designed to equip one million individuals with the skills needed to master AI prompt engineering. This initiative, the largest of its kind, aims to empower participants to harness the transformative potential of AI technologies.

Launched in May 2024 under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation, the initiative is a cornerstone of Dubai’s broader strategy to lead in artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and innovation.

The program will run over the next three years, providing participants with the critical AI and prompt literacy skills required to thrive in an AI-powered world.

Saeed Al Falasi, Director of DCAI, emphasized the significance of the initiative, saying, "This initiative opens new avenues for individuals from diverse disciplines to drive AI adoption across technical, creative, and knowledge-driven sectors. By mastering AI prompt engineering, participants gain the tools to unlock groundbreaking applications and drive innovation from Dubai to the world."

The “One Million Prompters” initiative aligns with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI, a comprehensive framework that seeks to develop specialized talent and advance the adoption of AI across key sectors. By fostering expertise in AI prompt engineering, Dubai reinforces its position as a leader in shaping the future of technology and driving global innovation.

Curriculum Overview:

The initiative offers a structured curriculum divided into four specialized modules, designed to accommodate individuals with varying levels of expertise.

• Module 1: Unleashing the Power of AI – This foundational module introduces participants to AI, generative AI, and prompt literacy, preparing them for a future shaped by advanced technologies.
• Module 2: Commanding Conversations with AI Chatbots – Focuses on advanced techniques in prompt engineering, enhancing the user experience in human-AI interactions.
• Module 3: AI-Powered Productivity Revolution – This module presents tools and strategies for utilizing AI to streamline workflows and increase productivity in professional settings.
• Module 4: Creative Frontiers with Generative AI – Explores the exciting potential of AI in creative industries, including art, music, and video production.

Upon completion, participants will receive accredited certificates in AI prompt engineering, marking their expertise in this rapidly growing field.

This initiative builds on the success of the inaugural 'Global Prompt Engineering Championship,' held in Dubai in May 2024. The championship attracted participants from nearly 100 countries, showcasing the immense global interest in AI prompt engineering. Winners from India, Austria, and other nations demonstrated the diverse applications of AI in coding, art, and literature.

Looking ahead, the second edition of the championship will take place during "Dubai AI Week" in April 2025, further solidifying Dubai’s role as a global AI hub.
