Dubai Municipality has been recognized as the UAE’s Country Winner at the 2025 International Safety Awards, presented by the British Safety Council - one of the most esteemed global accolades in occupational health and safety, WAM reported.
Selected from hundreds of international contenders spanning the UK, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, Dubai Municipality is among only 10 institutions worldwide to earn the prestigious Country Winner title this year. The award highlights the organization’s exemplary commitment to maintaining safe, healthy, and sustainable workplaces.
Dr Naseem Mohammed Rafee, CEO of the Environment, Health, and Safety Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the award is a testament to the Municipality’s dedication to preventive health and safety practices and its alignment with international standards. “This milestone supports our vision of positioning Dubai as a global benchmark for quality of life and public safety,” she said.
Dubai Municipality stood out for its forward-thinking approach to risk management, which includes internationally certified safety systems, strong policies to safeguard employees, and continuous investment in innovation.
The organization also excelled in promoting employee wellbeing, reducing workplace incidents, and embedding a robust safety culture through training, education, and the use of smart technologies.
