Evens committee releases detailed security and traffic plan to deliver a seamless and enjoyable experience for all

Dubai's Events Security Committee has unveiled a comprehensive plan to ensure the safety and success of the 2025 New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Building on the achievements of previous years, the city will be divided into four operational sectors—North, Central, West, and Maritime—to streamline security and enhance public services. Strategic partners and over 55 government and private entities are collaborating to deliver a seamless and enjoyable experience for all.

Fireworks displays:
Dubai will host fireworks at 36 locations, including iconic sites such as Burj Khalifa, Global Village, Expo City, Atlantis The Royal, and Al Marmoom Oasis.
Dedicated viewing for workers:
Special zones with large screens, meal services, and amenities will allow workers to enjoy the festivities safely and conveniently, reducing the need to travel to crowded event locations.
Road closures:
- Al Asayel Street from Oud Metha Road to Burj Khalifa: from 4:00 PM
- Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Burj Khalifa Street, and Al Mustaqbal Street: from 4:00 PM, depending on parking availability
- Lower Financial Centre Street: from 4:00 PM
- Upper Financial Centre Street and Al Sukook Street: from 8:00 PM
- Public Advisory: Guests with bookings in the area must arrive before 4:00 PM
Deployment:
- Personnel: 8,530 Dubai Police officers, 1,145 patrols, 33 marine rescue boats, and Civil Defence vehicles will be on duty.
- Mobile operations: Six mobile operation rooms will monitor activities across the city.
- Support tents: Downtown Dubai will have tents offering first aid, lost-and-found services, and assistance for lost children.
Public transport:
- Metro: Continuous operations for 43 hours from 5:00 AM on December 31 to midnight on January 1. 1 January 2025: From 12:00 midnight to 11:59 PM.
- Shuttles: 260 buses will transport attendees from key parking areas with 900 additional parking spaces available at Al Wasl Club and Al Jaffiliya.
- Traffic management: Real-time monitoring of traffic lights and clear signage for pedestrians.
Health and safety readiness
Emergency response:
Dubai Ambulance has established 224 emergency points, with 593 paramedics and 19 ambulances strategically positioned near key sites. A field hospital and several medical points will operate near the Burj Khalifa area.
Public health:
Dubai Municipality will deploy over 2,500 sanitation workers and ensure food safety inspections at restaurants and event sites. Lifeguards and special teams will secure public parks and beaches.
Civil defence:
1,097 firefighters and 123 vehicles will be stationed across five sectors, supported by SMS alerts and safety inspections at 257 facilities.
Public cooperation and guidance
Authorities have urged residents and visitors to:
- Follow police instructions and traffic rules.
- Avoid congested areas and use public transport.
- Report emergencies to 999 and non-emergencies to 901.
