Aag Lage Basti Main leads the Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 race with a gritty trailer starring Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan.

Bullah and Delhi Gate provide strong genre diversity through action, nostalgia, romance, and mystery.

Punjabi and Malaysian horror films are also set to release, making Eid 2026 a multi-genre cinema season.

Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most crowded and diverse cinema seasons in recent years. With the release of the trailer for Aag Lage Basti Main (ALBM), excitement around Eid releases has gained fresh momentum. The film will face direct competition from Bullah and Delhi Gate, making the festive season a major test for the Pakistani box office.

Aag Lage Basti Main Grabs Early Attention

Set in the streets of Karachi, Aag Lage Basti Main presents a gritty urban narrative with dark comedic undertones. The trailer showcases fast-paced storytelling, raw visuals, and a textured cinematic style that departs from the polished look seen in many recent releases.

Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan reunite after Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad, but this time in more intense and unpredictable roles. Mahira Khan appears in a stronger, more aggressive character arc, while Fahad Mustafa portrays a desperate, street-smart figure. The inclusion of television host Tabish Hashmi in a key role has also sparked curiosity, marking a notable crossover from talk shows to feature films.

Alongside the lead cast, Aag Lage Basti Main also features Osama Bin Atiq, an actor and well-known mimicry artist, appearing in a key role along with several social media influencers, adding a contemporary digital-age presence to the film.

The film is written and directed by Bilal Atif Khan, a young filmmaker whose vision and storytelling approach mark ALBM as one of the most closely watched projects of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026.

Viral social media sensation Samra Shehzadi, known for “Acha Ji Aisa Hay Kya”, is also featured in the film, bringing her meme-worthy persona and trending online energy to the big screen.

Strong Eid Competition

While Aag Lage Basti Main leads early discussions, the other two major releases bring contrasting genres to the table.

Bullah signals Shaan Shahid’s return to Punjabi action cinema, featuring intense dialogue, emotional storytelling, and action-driven sequences. The reunion of Shaan Shahid and Saleem Sheikh has added a strong nostalgic pull for long-time cinema-goers.

Meanwhile, Delhi Gate offers a more atmospheric experience. Set in Lahore’s historic walled city, the film blends romance and mystery, with performances by Jawed Sheikh and Roma Michael. It aims to attract audiences looking for a culturally rooted and story-driven film during the holiday season.

More Films Joining the Eid Lineup

In addition to these three major Pakistani releases, cinemas are also expected to screen several Punjabi and Malaysian horror films during Eid-ul-Fitr. These international titles add another layer of variety to the festive lineup, catering to audiences who prefer supernatural thrillers and horror genres. The expanded slate suggests that cinema owners are preparing for high footfall by offering diverse viewing options beyond mainstream local films.
