Before partition, Karachi’s Jewish community thrived as a close-knit group, centered around a synagogue in the Jubilee area for worship.
Nukta correspondent Shayan Saleem visited the Jewish section of Mewa Shah Cemetery, home to around 900 graves adorned with the Star of David and unique Jewish architectural elements.
These graves reflect the community’s significant role in Karachi’s development as professionals.
Unfortunately, years of neglect have left many graves in disrepair, erasing a vital part of the city’s multicultural heritage.
