E-gaming sector paving the way for a new digital economy
E-gaming, once a mere hobby, has transformed into a global industry. Pakistani youth are not only excelling in this tech race but also gaining recognition for their game development skills worldwide. The Pakistani IT industry exports around USD 3.2 billion annually, with a significant portion from e-gaming.
Before reaching users, e-games pass through seven complex stages: planning, pre-production (storyboarding), production (game development), testing, pre-launch, launch, and post-production (feedback and adjustments).
In Pakistan, there's a growing shift from playing e-games to creating them. As a result, many institutions now offer courses in game development, animation, coding, and digital marketing. The e-gaming sector is paving the way for a new digital economy, and its impact is extending far beyond the screen.
