Jinn Ki Shadi Unn Ki Shadi—the name of this upcoming horror comedy might seem unusual, but that’s because the whole concept is. When was the last time you saw a horror-comedy on Pakistani TV? If you have to think about it, that means it wasn’t recent—and that’s precisely what makes this concept feel novel.
Featuring the potentially magical pairing of Wahaj Ali and Sehar Khan for the first time, this Saife Hasan–directed show recently released its first teaser, and it was nothing less than a jolt of energy. Wahaj Ali’s brilliance, Sehar Khan’s youthful spark, and a strong supporting cast—together they set the stage for a surefire hit.
Here’s why this much-anticipated play deserves a spot on your calendar—straight from the promo.

1 — Wahaj Ali returns to horror
Wahaj Ali has emerged as one of the most prolific actors of his generation, whose name alone draws audiences. In this romcom between a poet and a jinn, he plays the poet who falls in love with a jinn, leading to intriguing scenarios. From the teaser, it looks like the jinn fell first—but who made the move is still unclear.
This isn’t Wahaj’s first foray into either horror or comedy; he was part of the horror drama Dilnawaz in 2017 and later lit up screens with the hit Ramazan play Ishq Jalebi, where he made audiences laugh out loud.

2 — Sehar Khan weaves her magic
Sehar Khan’s star has been rising ever since Fairy Tale, and she brings the same energy to this play as a jinn in love. Pairing her with Wahaj Ali is smart—she has undeniable chemistry with the chocolate hero. Whether it sparks Fairy Tale-level magic remains to be seen—but fans already love the look of it in the teaser.
Reuniting with her Tan Man Neel o Neel director Saife Hasan could be another plus since the two worked wonders last time. Casting her as a jinn is a stroke of genius—her very name means magic.

3 — Saife Hasan: Master of horror & comedy
Horror-comedies might be trending across the border, but on this side of the Wagah, they haven’t found much success. If it’s too scary, you lose the comedy audience—and vice versa. That’s why Saife Hasan feels like the perfect choice; he’s directed horror plays like Belapur Ki Dayan and comedy hits like Tanaa Banaa.
Though his last drama Tan Man Neel o Neel was serious, his skill with both genres shows in the teaser. If the teaser works, chances are the play will too—and that’s enough reason to mark my calendar.

4 — Syed Nabeel goes solo
Writer Syed Nabeel—of Bandish, Dilnawaz and Jinzada fame—may seem new to comedy, but he’s been crafting both horror and comedy plays for two decades. Now back to writing solo after parting ways with Shahid Nizami, all eyes are on whether he can deliver the same magic here.

5 — An ensemble cast to die for
Besides Wahaj Ali and Sehar Khan, Jinn Ki Shadi Unn Ki Shadi features Syed Jibran as the scary jinn—and when he plays one, you can’t help but believe in magic.

The ensemble also includes influencers-turned-actors Arsalan Naseer and Romaisa Khan, alongside seasoned stars Nadia Afgan, Sidra Niazi, Irfan Motiwala, and Tamkenat Mansoor, giving the play the star power it needs ahead of release.
