Karachi runners defy extreme weather to complete One Run half marathon

Despite sweltering heat and 82% humidity, hundreds of determined runners conquered the One Run Half Marathon in DHA Karachi this Saturday, showcasing extraordinary perseverance in challenging conditions.
The event, organized under the One Run Global initiative, featured 21km, 10km, 5km and 1km categories, attracting participants from across Pakistan including expatriates and professionals from diverse fields.
In the men's half marathon, Muhammad Riaz secured first position with Riaz Ahmed claiming second while Safdar finished third.
The women's category saw Mahnoor Fatima take top honors, followed by Qandeel in second place and Aqsa in third.
"This event celebrates Karachi's growing running culture," said Shoaib Nizami, Event Director. "Hosting for the second consecutive year reflects our city's passion for sports. We're committed to expanding future editions to make Karachi a key destination in the global running calendar."
One Run Global synchronizes half marathons across international cities on a single day, creating a shared experience for runners worldwide. The Karachi leg highlighted participants' resilience, with many first-time runners completing their distance goals despite the taxing weather.
