UAE President congratulates Starmer on becoming UK Prime Minister
Sheikh Mohamed wishes to strengthen historical and strategic relations between the UAE and the UK
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated the newly-elected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, on Sunday, following the July 4 elections that saw the Labour leader take on the new role.
During the call, the president wished Starmer success in leading his country towards further prosperity. He also reiterated his commitment to working together to strengthen the historic and strategic relations between the UAE and the UK, as well as to expand their cooperation into broader areas that serve their mutual interests.
In response, Prime Minister Starmer thanked Sheikh Mohamed, expressing his appreciation for the kind sentiments towards the UK and its people. He affirmed his commitment to enhancing his country’s relations and bilateral cooperation with the UAE in various fields, particularly in economic and investment sectors.
Keir Starmer was elected into office on Friday, July 5. The Labour Party secured 412 seats in Parliament, crossing the majority 326 mark and resulting in the first win in 14 years.
