With six seasons under its belt and adaptations in eight countries, Love Is Blind is now coming to the UAE!

After announcing the Middle East edition of the popular reality seriesearlier this year, Netflix has now revealed when its first season will premiere.

The show, which has quickly become a global guilty pleasure, drops on the streaming giant on October 10. Not much has been revealed about the participants but we do know that it will be hosted by Saudi TV personality, Elham Ali and her husband, Khaled Saqr.

The core of this so-called “experiment” is simple: singles enter soundproof “pods” to date each other, never seeing who they’re talking to. With just their voices and conversations to guide them, they must build connections. All outside distractions, including phones, are removed, and participants live on-set, split by gender.

The pods are separated by a wall so the participants never see each other.Netflix

After about two weeks, couples must decide if they’re ready to get engaged. If both agree, they finally meet face-to-face before heading off on a holiday together. IF they survive the vacation (because we all know love may be blind but travel is the eye-opener), they move in for four weeks, navigating real life, meeting each other's friends and family.

The journey culminates in a wedding, where each person must decide if they want to continue on this path. The experiment tests if emotional connections, sight unseen, can prove that love is truly blind.

Given the cultural nuances and more conservative values of the Middle East, we're curious to see how they've tweaked the existing format.
