Many FIITJEE coaching centers shut down; parents and students left in limbo

FIITJEE

Several FIITJEE centers across North India have abruptly shut their doors, leaving students and parents scrambling for answers. Branches in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar and Noida Sector 62, along with locations in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Bhopal, and Patna, have been affected. The closures have sparked alarm, with multiple complaints filed with the police and an investigation now underway.

What led to the shutdowns?

The closures appear to stem from a mass resignation of teachers, who walked out over unpaid salaries. Despite initial attempts to bring in temporary replacements, the centers were forced to close after just a few days. This has left parents enraged, with many filing FIRs accusing FIITJEE of abruptly halting operations and jeopardizing their children’s academic futures. One complaint from Ghaziabad even claims that teachers at the local center had not been paid for their work.

The sudden closures have not only raised questions about FIITJEE’s financial health but have also thrown the preparation of thousands of students into turmoil, especially those in the critical stages of exam preparation.

Parents speak out

Parents are particularly upset, as many have already paid full fees for long-term coaching packages. Rajiv Kumar Chaudhary, a concerned parent, expressed his frustration:

“We paid 100% of the fees for five years, with two years still left. Now, FIITJEE is telling us to shift our children to Aakash Institute. They have no right to dictate where we send our kids.”

Another parent, Avinash Kumar, vented his anger over the lack of communication:

“The management isn’t answering calls. They should refund our money. This is about my child’s future, and the government should step in.”

With the investigation ongoing, the future of thousands of students relying on FIITJEE for IIT-JEE preparation remains uncertain.
