From a 16-year-old schoolboy and construction worker to one of Karachi’s most feared MQM hitmen, the story of Muhammad Naeem Sheikh, better known as Naeem Sharri, is as tragic as it is chilling.

Between 1990 and 1996, Naeem Sharri’s name became synonymous with Karachi’s violent underworld. Wanted in over 100 murder cases, he gained notoriety for his ability to change his appearance and escape more than 1,000 police raids.

His fearlessness, connections, and ruthlessness made him a symbol of a city caught in the grip of political and gang warfare. But in March 1996, the young man’s run came to a brutal end.

At just 23, Naeem Sharri was killed in a police encounter in Dalmia Shanti Nagar, closing the chapter on one of Karachi’s most wanted men — but leaving behind unanswered questions about power, politics, and survival.

Now, in an exclusive investigative documentary, Ahmer Rehman Khan, Senior Correspondent at Nukta, retraces the path of Naeem Sharri’s rise and fall. Through rare police records, eyewitness testimonies, and untold details behind the rise and fall of one of Karachi’s most wanted men.
