Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Itihadia Presidential Palace in Cairo, where the two leaders discussed bilateral ties and regional security cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s public affairs wing, both sides reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Egypt and emphasized the need to deepen collaboration in defense, trade, technology and socio-economic development.
Field Marshal Munir commended Egypt’s leadership for its pivotal role in promoting peace and stability across the Middle East and North Africa. President el-Sisi, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s constructive engagement and contributions to global and regional peace, as well as its leadership within the Muslim world.
The discussions also underscored the importance of enhancing coordination on shared strategic interests and promoting greater people-to-people connectivity. Both leaders acknowledged the historical depth of Pakistan-Egypt relations and reiterated their commitment to broadening collaboration across multiple sectors, including security and counterterrorism.
The meeting concluded, with both sides expressing confidence that closer economic and security cooperation would contribute to lasting peace and stability in their respective countries and the wider region.
