Pakistan’s Chief of Defense Forces and army chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, said on Saturday the military remains fully prepared to counter both internal and external threats, as he reviewed operational readiness at key army garrisons in eastern Pakistan.

Munir visited the Gujranwala and Sialkot garrisons, where he was briefed on operational preparedness and measures aimed at strengthening combat capability, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement.

During the visit, he observed a field training exercise and inspected a simulator-based training facility, praising what ISPR described as the troops’ high professional standards and state of readiness.

Addressing officers and soldiers, Munir highlighted the changing nature of modern warfare and stressed the need for technological adaptability, agility, precision and faster decision-making in contemporary conflicts.

He also commended personnel for their morale and commitment, urging rigorous, mission-oriented training to meet emerging security challenges.

The army chief said the military remained focused on confronting a range of threats, including hostile hybrid campaigns, extremist ideologies and divisive elements that could undermine national stability.

CDF Munir was received by the Gujranwala corps commander on arrival, ISPR said.
